Summary

Last night, at the Ko Shing Theatre, a series of comic and instructive films were thrown on the screen by the American Cinematograph Company before a preponderatingly Chinese audience. It cannot be said that all the pictures were clear and distinct, several of them being dimmed to an extent which proved oppressive to the eye, and in this respect they are capable of improvement. But this little discomfort was evidently not felt by the Chinese part of the house and to them the scenes depicted on the canvas were both novel and entertaining, the spectators giving expression to their huge delight by spontaneous bursts of 'hi-yahs.' The principal feature of the evening's entertainment was a splendid film showing the recent Chinese Imperial funeral. Details of the film included.
