Considerable interest was manifested in the proceedings at the Magistracy yesterday, when the eight Japanese who have been arrested in connection with the forged bank note case appeared before Mr. C. D. Melbourne. It is mentioned that on Sunday, the 22nd of December, the eighth prisoner went on board the vessel and got the two packages and brought them on deck. The man told someone on board that the baskets contained cinematograph films, but that they were useless in Hongkong, as the man to whom he wanted to sell them knew they were old.
