Summary

In his lecture to the Church of England Men's Society last night Hon. Mr. H. E. Pollock, K. C., among other interesting matters referred to the censorship of cinema films. He said: "I come now to the question of cinemas, and all I need ay on that subject is that the question of censoring cinema films is under consideration now, and will very shortly come up for legislation. I don't think there can be any question in anybody's mind that the films for cinemas certainly ought to be censored by some authority in this Colony. We all know how very much these cinema exhibitions are patronised and therefore it is extremely important, as they appear to and are seen by a large number of people, that they should be subject to censorship."
We had been under the impression that the Police already exercised a censorship on cinema films.
