An unusual case is taking place in Singapore in which Mr. Ralph Bridges, manager of the Singapore office of the Lasky Famous Players Film Company, is charged with attempting to check the Official Film Censor, Capt. T. M. Hussey, by falsely and fraudulently pretending to him that a film delivered by the accused to the Censor's Office on April 29 last for 'chopping' was the same as the film shown by him to Censor on the previous day, and contained no picture other than those shown by him to the Censor. Tan Kim Hock, manager of the Universal Film Company, Orchard, who stated that he had 20 years experience in films, said that before a film started showing, a square part of film, which was black and called a trailer, was wound on the spool. It's noted that Mr. Bridges was the manager of Paramount Film Company in Singapore before.
