Summary
At the meeting of Sanitary Board yesterday afternoon the following letter was read from the Colonial Secretary, the Hon. F. H. May, was regard to the closing of Chinese theatres. The letter stated that persons attending the theatres would probably be less crowded together than if they remained in their houses, thus the Government is not prepared to act on the recommendation of a majority of the Sanitary Board, that the Chinese Theatres should be closed during the prevalence of Plague.
