Summary
A fire broke out at the Beaconsfield Arcade in Queen's Road, just opposite the City Hall and the Hongkong and Shanghai Bank. The fire seems to have broken out in a cinema-film exchange, known variously as the Wing Yik Film Company and A Hon's Continental Film Exchange. It is difficult to estimate the loss. The film exchange, which was an agency of the well-known Ramos Bros., is said to have contained $11,000 worth of films, mostly old stuff used for Chinese circuits.
