The public will have an opportunity of seeing one of Edison's latest inventions in the City Hall. The principal feature of the entertainment will be the new 20th-century projectoscope, the latest development of the cinematograph and bioscope, and an immense improvement upon anything that has yet been achieved in apparatus of the kind. The camera employed in taking the moving pictures registers impressions at the rate of 120 a minute, and thanks to the improvements introduced in the mechanism, and the employment of electricity, the old, objectionable flicker and vibration, which constituted the principal drawback of the original contrivance, have been eliminated, the consequence being that the pictures projected on the screen are unfolded smoothly and steadily to the eyes of the spectator. The pictures included five miles of Coronation films, Battle scenes in Cuba and the Philippines.
