Summary

Paris, July 11 – A scandal arising out of scenes enacted at Versailles a day or two ago by a company of Austrian cinema artists led last night to the arrest of six actors and actresses at Mulhouse just as they were about to cross the frontier. Their film has been seized, and they are to be detained in custody. The producer of the film, Otto Kreissler, has obtained official permission to operate in Versailles, but it was understood that the scenes were wanted for a film version of a French novel. It has been ruled that in future an official inspector will be present whenever films are produced in the park or chateau, and such films will also have to pass the censorship.
