Summary

In 1852, Alexandre Dumas, the younger, gave to the French public a play destined to become a literary masterpiece. It was called 'The Lady of the Camellias,' based on the life of Margaret Gautier, a French courtesan. All actresses longed to play Camille. There was Eleanora Duse, Ethel Barrymore and Alla Nazimova. Today, a new Camille has appeared. Marie Prevost is the new 'Lady of the Camellias' in a screen version not of the Dumas play, but of Sacha Guitry's 'Deburau.' 'The Lover of Camille' is the screen name. 'The Lover of Camille,' a Warner picture adapted from the David Belasco stage play by Sacha Guitry, in which Monte Blue is Jean, is to be shown today at the Coronet Theatre. It is directed by Harry Beaumont.
