The manager of the Hongkong Cinematograph Theatre was charged this morning before Mr. J. R. Wood with permitting the use of a cinematograph construction which was not constructed and operated according to regulations. Mr. F. C. Jenkins. D. S. P.(R.), appeared for the prosecution; Mr. M. K. Lo for the defendant. Mr. Li Wing Kee, the proprietor of the Hongkong Theatre, provided testimony in the court; A charge was also brought against the management of the Victoria Theatre for failing to keep two buckets of water and a wet blanket immediately outside the box containing the cinematograph on the night; Empire Theatre Prosecuted: The proprietor of the Empire Theatre was prosecuted for not renewing his license in time.
