Summary
For the first time, voice and action were synchronized on a standard cinema by Dr. Lee de Forest's invention, phonofilm. By this, the sounds are recorded in fine lines on the right-hand margin of the picture which is unreeled at normal speed – 13 to 16 inches per second. The music they played and photographed was heard clearly. In a few weeks, this new technology will entertain audiences at the cinema houses of New York and London.
