Summary
The preparation for the foundations of the big building which is to occupy the Queen's Road-Pedder Street corner (Old Post Office site) is proceeding apace. However, this building will not occupy all of the sites. One of the owners, the purchaser of the Queen's Road frontage, where the Hongkong Theatre was, Mr. So Chung-son, proposed to set up a well-equipped theatre together with the building. The theatre will be built of granite, classic architecture, with an imposing facade over the main entrance. There will be seats provided for 542 people in the stalls and pit, 270 in the dress circle and 416 in the 'upper' dress circle.
