Summary

Wednesday was 'Experiment day' at the Coronet Theatre when there was a continuous performance from 2.30 p.m. until 11.30 p.m. Continuous performances are very popular in the Old Country and there is scarcely a cinema theatre which has not adopted this principle. The idea has never been tried before in the Colony, and it remains to be seen whether the public is inclined to favour the proposition. Extensive arrangements were made by the enterprising manager of the Coronet and nothing was left undone which would in any way help to bring about a big success. A varied programme of pictures was provided, including 'Panthea,' 'The Wager,' 'The Fourteenth Chair,' 'The Frozen Warning,' etc. In addition, afternoon tea was served. All depends on the success of the first day's venture whether the management will consider it advisable to continue each day with continuous performances. We were informed that throughout the whole day the theatre was well filled.
