Summary

Viewing such a motion picture as Richard Barthelmess' new starring vehicle, 'The Bright Shawl,' which began an engagement at the Queen's Theatre last night, one instinctively recalls his previous productions for purposes of comparison. 'Tol'able David' was a masterpiece; 'Sonny' is almost its equal. But, 'The Bright Shawl' is a screen epic. Dorothy Gish, as La Clavel, is bewitching. Summed up, 'The Bright Shawl' is a First National picture of the first calibre.
