Summary

Wallace Beery as Richard, makes the lion-hearted king a lovable character, prone to doubt and to act on those doubts on the instant. The story shows us the King in the midst of his crusade and we have scenes that at once capture the imagination. As a sequel to another great picture – Robin Hood, it is in keeping with the majesty of that production, and the delight of the audience is added to by having flashes of incidents from Robin Hood in the person of Douglas Fairbanks, put on the screen. Wallace Beery has exceptional support and the characters of the lovable Queen, the Saladin, the knight, are all in capable hands.
