Summary

When I saw the scene in 'Hell's Hinges' where the crowd goes after the parson, the thought came to me, 'What a surprise there would be for everybody concerned if William S. Hart were playing the part of the gentleman in black! The same thought must have occurred to Thos. H. Ince, for he has produced this very situation in 'The Disciple.' Believe me it is a great drama, with alternating scenes of the tensest emotion, of thrilling excitement, and of the true grim Hart humour! It is a play that only William S. Hart could have made convincing and he is backed up nobly by Dorothy Dalton who acts the part of the erring wife with a simple pathos that must move to compassion the most callous of playgoers. 'The Disciple' is presented at the Coronet tonight with the personal guarantee of H. W. Ray.
