It is the recognised rule, during the hot season, in a climate such as we enjoy at present, to deny ourselves a great many of those entertainments which the heat makes almost impossible to appreciate with real comfort. The result is that the theatre is deserted, a cinematograph is closed, and concerts are particularly rare. In Singapore we notice they occasionally go one better than we do in Hongkong.
