Summary

The Courtneidge-Holloway company added further to their laurels last night when they played the favourite comedy, 'The Man from Toronto.' It is interesting to note that a film version of the same story, varied in a few particulars, is being shown just now at the Coronet. Although Constance Talmadge stars in the picture, those who were able to see both picture and play will agree that the Courtneidge-Holloway company acquitted itself very well. When the Courtneidge-Holloway Company was here, Mr. George Zucco played the part of the hero, Fergus Wimbush; but last night, Mr. Holloway himself had the role. Miss Leslie Graham was the minx. Mr. Walter Hudd was a young cousin and Misses Florence le Clercq and Enid Revill Reade were the two different sisters of the hero. Miss Dorothy Fletcher was the typical housemaid, while Miss Dora Hargreaves was a female whose photograph is used to startle the unhappy hero. Miss May Rogers was the lady's gauche daughter. Tonight, the Company plays that striking piece 'The Bat.'
