History repeats itself. When 'Thou Shalt Not' was produced in England some four months ago, upwards of a hundred copies of the film were put into circulation. Despite this fact, there were ‘kicks' from all over the country about the non-arrival of the film on the appointed day, and local distributors were ordered to investigate. They found that cinema managers having once got hold of it were unwilling to let it go, keeping it in some cases ten days instead of the customary three. The same thing has now happened here. The picture should have been at the Victoria this week; but Mrs. Vernon Castle seems to have been as big a ‘draw' in North China as in London, for we have received telegraphic information that, owing to its huge success up North, it will not be here for another week.
