Summary

With the worst of the hot weather past, indoor entertainment should again become more popular and the 'houses' which the Victoria Theatre has been enjoying during the past week are a reflex of the popularity of this place of entertainment. One of the best films seen for a long time is now being shown, this being 'The Chimes,' the old story by Charles Dickens having been dramatised in a most admirable manner. The presentation has been well-studied and the acting throughout is of a very fine order. The principal role of 'Trotty Veck' is one of the best pieces of acting we have seen. In addition to this star film, there are other interesting items in the bill.
