The Silver Girl' is the seventh of Pathe's extra selected star photo-plays, which the Victoria Theatre management is showing tomorrow night. 'The Silver Girl' introduces that sterling character actor, Frank Keenan, in yet another new type of character. We saw him as a railroad magnate in 'The Ruler of the Road,' as the ironmaster in 'More Trouble' as the Alsatian innkeeper in 'The Bells,' playing the dual role 'John Lynch' and 'Big Rivers' in 'The Midnight Stage,' and as the henpecked old newspaperman in 'Todd of the Times.' Now Keenan, in his latest picture, gives us a cinema cameo of 'Jefferson Hunter,' a middle-aged Nevada miner. When it is considered that Frank Keenan directed this production himself, bringing to bear his immense and specialised knowledge of stagecraft and dramatic technique, there will be little wonder that everyone who's seen 'The Silver Girl' on the screen pronounces it to be a '100% perfect picture.' From the time the first reel opens until the last reel closes, the attention of the spectator is held intensively and grippingly throughout, and the story proceeds along logical and skilfully constructed lines, leading up to a tremendous climax towards the end of the fourth part, and winding up in a logical fashion – yet holding the attention until the very last moment. So far as the locations are concerned, Mr. Keenan and Mr. Howe have succeeded admirably in obtaining the correct 'atmosphere' of both the wild and rugged Nevada country and the intensive civilisation of New York, social circles.
