Summary
In 'The Barefoot Boy,' a picturization of John Greenleaf Whittier's charming poem of the country boy, opened yesterday at the World Theatre, for a four-day run. There is a vast unexplored field for directors and producers with imagination in these exquisite gems, written by the New England poet. Charles Ray did it in Riley's 'Ole Swimmin' Hole' and 'The Girl I Love' [sic], but it remained for David Kirkland to bring to the screen an adaptation of Whittier's 'The Barefoot Boy.' Film plot included. In support of Frankie Lee and John Bowers are Marjorie Daw, Sylvia Breamer, Tully Marshall, Otis Harlan, Brinsley Shaw, Raymond Hatton, Virginia True Boardman, George Periolat, Gertie Messinger and Lottie Williams.
