Summary

Baby Peggy, known to filmdom as 'The Baby Bernhardt,' stands today as one of the most important factors in box office success. Her second big production, 'The Law Forbids,' a Jewel deluxe, equally well cast, comes today to the Queen's Theatre. Her pictures possibilities were first discovered by Abe and Julius Stern of the Century Comedies; then followed a service of Baby Peggy comedies that made her name the by-word of the picture houses. 'Jack the Giant Killer' showed her in a fanciful fairy tale; 'Peg O' the Mounted' in a burlesque the elders roared at. Then Universal obtained her services for Jewel productions; the first one 'The Darling of New York.' 'The Law Forbids,' her latest, is directed by Jess Robbins. In 'The Law Forbids,' he has such favourites of stellar ability like Winifred Bryson of 'Thundering Dawn,' who repeats her vamp role here; Elinor Fair of 'Kismet' and 'Driven'; Robert Ellis, William E. Lawrence, James Corrigan, Eva Thatcher and Joseph Dowling.
