'Eugenie Grandet' was written in the full vigour of Balzac's genius, and it is only fitting that the story should have been filmed by a leading concern like the Metro, which already has the famous 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse' to its credit. Rodolph Valentino plays Charles Grandet, while Alice Terry takes the part of Eugenie. 'The Conquering Power' is from every standpoint, a notable picture.
