Summary

A gigantic film scheme, designed to make a British Hollywood, has been launched in England, and actual building operations may be commenced in the early spring. At the head of the scheme is the Cinematograph Exhibitors' Association. One of the chief aims of the association recently has been to popularize British films. It is hoped that exhibitors in this country will put up the 250,000 pounds capital necessary. Mr. T. Ormiston, the president of the association, discussing the scheme said that a British Hollywood had been the aim of the film industry in this country. 'All that has prevented it was the lack of cooperation and pooling of capital. Under this scheme, we shall erect extensive studios and shall equip them with everything required for successful production.
