Summary
The Vitagraph Company of America Inc., have filed a suit in the United States District Court in New York alleging restraint of trade and claiming £1,200,000 as compensation against the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. The plaintiffs claim that the defendants have used unfair means to exclude the screening of not only Vitagraph Company films but also films by other distributors and producers in the vital 'first-run' Theatres. The plaintiffs have also alleged that the defendant has made 'fictitious inducements' to prompt the ‘stars' and other employees employed by the plaintiff, to leave the Vitagraph Company.
