Summary

Hongkong Philharmonic Society presented 'The Gondoliers,' at the Theatre Royal. Despite bad weather, a large audience came up and appreciated the performance which was under the direction of Mr. Stanley Collott. Mr. W. G. Wheller was responsible for the proper presentation of the work. Although staging and costuming was close to perfect in the play, voicing of the main characters didn't match the standards of the Society. The names of the soloists are included. Mr. Wheller, Mr. Brock and Mr. D.M. Richards played the principal roles. Names of other cast members and members of the chorus are included. Tribute paid to all responsible for the production including Mr. Neil Mathieson, Messrs. Derrick and Coles and Mr. T. Hellidge.
