Summary

The Grand is going to be opened at the Wanchai and Happy Valley end of the town. It has been elected on the site formerly occupied by the old Eastern Theatre. With a fine structure and a seating capacity of almost 650 persons, the theatre claims to be one of the largest picture theatre in the colony. With well-decorated interiors, top-notch facilities for the first-class the theatre promises a quality experience to its customers. A feature of it is that the operating box is level with the screen. This is the only theatre so equipped in the Colony, this arrangement ensures a much better projection of the films. The Theatre opened on Saturday night, with the house packed, including a number of Europeans. Two comedies are now showing: Charlie Chaplin's 'Pay Day' and Harold Lloyd in first two episodes.
