Summary
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. McKenna, estimated that a greater part of the new amusement tax would come from the cinemas. The Bioscope has been making a little calculation. The number of people attending 4,500 pictures (with an average seating capacity of 700 and giving three shows daily) would be, with full house, 9,450,000 daily, or 2,057,850,000 yearly.
