Summary
If names count for anything, the film, 'The First Degree,' which will be shown at the Star tonight, should prove a big attraction. The story won widespread fame under the title of 'The Summons,' when published in the Saturday Evening Post. It was written by George Patullo, and the screen version prepared by George Randolph Chester, of Wallingford fame. Frank Mayo stars in this Universal picture, in which has the strange role of a self-confessed murderer whom the Grand Jury refused to convict.
