Summary

The Theatre Royal was well filled last evening when Mlle. Van der Flier lectured on 'Refugee Work in Holland' on behalf of the Hongkong Fund for the Devastated Villages of France and for Belgian widows and orphans. The lecture was under the patronage of H.E. the Governor, H.E. Vice-Admiral Sir Alexander Duff, H.E. Major-General Ventris, Sir William Rees-Davies and the Hon. Mr. Claud Severn. Kinema pictures were then shown, depicting scenes in Brussels before and after the German occupation, the bombardment of Antwerp, Belgian refugees arriving in Holland, scenes in Holland, and the employment of wounded and mutilated men at Detroit, USA.
