Summary

H. C. Witwer, who wrote 'The 4th Musketeer,' which shows for the last time today at the World Theatre, is one of the most prolific writers of short stories among American literati. He achieved fame with a series of syndicated baseball stories later issued in book form, 'From Baseball to Boches,' in which he drew on his experiences as a war correspondent and baseball scribe to create popular fiction material. In the Ed. Harmon series of letters in the Saturday Evening Post, he developed a hero whose exploits brought resounding laughter. His general style recalls that of the late beloved Charles E. Van Loan, whose tales of sporting life and moviedom gave him lasting fame.
