Summary

Lon Chaney in a Universal-Jewel super-production that comes to a climax when a reproduction of the earthquake of 1906 shakes San Francisco into kindling for the great fire, will be the offering at the World Theatre beginning tomorrow. It is entitled 'The Shock.' The sweetness is provided by Virginia Valli, the star of the 'Storm,' and the bitterness is shown in a graphic account of the life of a man in San Francisco's Barbary Coast. Lambert Hillyer, who directed most of 'Bill' Hart's successes, directed this latest Valli-Chaney production. In support of Lon Chaney and Miss Valli will be seen William Welsh, who played the father in 'Over the Hill' and Jack Mower. Chaney will, of course, be recalled for his characterizations of the cripple in 'The Miracle Man,' 'The Trap,' and 'Shadows.'
