The new Empire, opposite the Central Market, made an auspicious opening last night in presence of a 'full house,' the guests of the proprietors. Each lady guest, upon entering, was presented with a bouquet. The programme was a specially selected one for the occasion. Performances by Mr. Howard, Miss Lee, Miss Maggie Frazer and Master Percy. The pictures were also thoroughly enjoyed, more especially as they were new to Hongkong cinema-goers. Altogether Messrs. Ramos and Ramos deserve congratulations upon the successful start they have made in their new premises.
