Summary

Moving pictures of Ivan Korniloff, the Russian bandit now under sentence of death in Harbin, may be put under the ban by Shanghai police. Mr. Paul Crawley, an American moving picture operator, who took the films while Korniloff – the first foreigner to be sentenced to be executed in 100 years by the Chinese authorities – was at liberty following his sensational escape from the courtroom at Harbin just after he was sentenced to life imprisonment, was notified that he could not show the films at the Princess Theatre. Mr. Crawley consulted his attorney, Mr. F. J. Schuhl, and after a conference with Inspector O'Toole, it was announced that the police would withhold action in the matter until after they had seen an advance showing of the pictures.
