Summary
A larger, more effective and more attractive Theatre will solve the principal source of touring companies. It will also attract greater patronage of visiting companies and hence better shows in the colony. Undoubtedly, Hong Kong needs a more modern playhouse, a Theatre more in keeping with the requirements. The present Theatre Royal has long been obsolete. The City Hall trustees are putting up their best efforts.
