Summary

Talking films are the latest attraction promised at the new Wembley Exhibition. This is the first presentation of such films in this country. They are being shown in one of the Conference Halls, where they are being presented by Mr. R. B. Salisbury, in association with Messrs. de Forest Phonofilms, an all-British Company. This sound record is produced as follows. The sounds are picked up by a sensitive microphone. In order to reproduce the sound which has been recorded photographically on the film when the positive film is placed in the projector, an attachment consisting of a small incandescent lamp is added. The future of the Phonofilm today is similar to that which faced the new art of the silent picture.
