Summary

The Victoria Theatre, on Friday, screened a war play of unusual interest: 'The Menace,' which is not only staged and mounted in the Film d'Art Company's best manner, but which unfolds a most strikingly ingenious plot. There was also a new Gazette, equal is point of quality to any of its predecessors, while two sets of special war photographs were valuable additions to an excellent programme. Another feature was 'Max Linder Joins the Colours.' The new episodes of the mystery serial 'The Black Box' evoked much admiration. Tonight, there is a special programme, and the Band of the 18th Infantry will again be in attendance. The programme will include 'The Sham Wiffles' and a two-part Charlie Chaplin picture. On Wednesday night, Dr. Rowe, the Mystery King, will make his first appearances, accompanied by his clairvoyant partner.
