Summary

A statement about the winter season of Victoria Theatre has been made by Mr. J. J. Blake, the manager. Concerning serial pictures were so much appreciated by cinema-goers, Mr. Blake has arranged to screen first 'The Grip of Evil,' with Jackie Saunders in the leading role. Other serials will follow such as 'The Fatal Ring,' featuring Pearl White, and another serial which is now being made in America, in which Creighton Hale, the popular Davy of the 'Iron Claw' will take the leading role. Some of the best productions will be screened. First, it is 'The Light That Failed,' by Rudyard Kipling. Then, there is 'Kick In,' with a new cinema star Mollie King; then 'Sunshine and Gold,' in which the ever clever baby star Mary [sic] Osborne will be screened; then 'The Recoil,' with Lillian Greuze in a prominent part; as well as 'The Last of the Carnabys,' and many others. In every programme a place will be retained for Gazettes and official war films, including the already appreciated pictures, 'The Annals of the War.' Every programme will also contain educational and scenic films. The winter season will commence at the termination of the 'Camoes' visit with the 'Grip of evil' and the 'King's Game,' featuring Pearl White and Sheldon Lewis.
