Summary

A good book seldom makes a good film play, but among the exceptions must stand. 'The Blue Lagoon,' a romantic idyll, in seven parts, is now showing at the World Theatre until Saturday. When a kinema version of Mr. H. de Vere Stacpoole's novel was shown for the first time at the New Gallery, Regent Street, W., it was found that the charm of the original story has been preserved. The spirit of the book has been realised by Mr. W. W. Dowdon [sic], the writer of the scenario. Dick and Emmeline are delightful as children when played by Dorien Winfer [sic] and Val Chard. Following this beautiful play, comes a special scenic picture entitled 'Hangchow, the Mecca of Chinese Buddhists.' No less than 72 items are shown, such as the situation of the Taoist Temple of Ko Ling. Local Buddhists will find this picture very interesting.
