London, January 12 – A disaster occurred in Barnsley Public Hall at a Cinematograph performance, where a number of children, of the average age of 6, rushed down the stairs to obtain better seats and 16 were crushed to death, many being injured.

The Alexandra Cinematograph is giving two exhibitions on Empire Day, more than one hundred people having had to be turned away last Saturday. Miss Ruby Ray and Miss Thorne will render new songs. All the Cinematographic films exhibited are new to Hongkong.

The management of the Bijou Scenic Theatre, Flower Street, announces that from May 10th to the end of September they will give their patrons a special reduction in the prices of admission between these dates, and that the programme will consist entirely of cinematograph pictures of the best.
