A crowded audience was present on Thursday evening when the Alexandra Cinematograph opened for a short season. La Bella Chiquita gave a number of songs and dances while Miss Amity also created a favourable impression in a 'Danse Fantaisie.'
Intending visitors to the Alexandra Cinematograph would do well to book their seats early, as the present bill-of-fare is drawing crowded houses. Last night money had to be turned away. The pictures are good and the dances of La Chiquita and Miss Amity very fascinating.

After being closed down during the hot weather the Victoria Skating Rink will re-open on Sunday, October 1, at 10:00am. Rinking enthusiasts will be able to obtain monthly tickets on application at the Victoria Theatre.
